Port of San Diego Recognizes Participants of VSR Program
The Port of San Diego has honored 24 ship companies, including multiple cruise lines, for participating in its voluntary Vessel Speed Reduction (VSR) Program aimed at lowering emissions and improving air quality in and around San Diego Bay. By reducing speeds to 12 knots or less within designated coastal zones, participating vessels help cut greenhouse gases and other pollutants while supporting the port’s broader Maritime Clean Air Strategy goals.

Concordia Damen to Build Two Methanol-Ready Ships for TUI River Cruises
TUI River Cruises has ordered two CDS River Cruise 135 vessels from Dutch shipyard Concordia Damen, each with 94 cabins for 188 guests and delivery scheduled in 2028. The methanol-ready ships are designed specifically for the UK market and will operate across key European waterways, supporting TUI’s planned fleet growth from six to ten vessels by 2028.
