Warm water destinations ‘biggest growth area in expedition’, say experts
Warm-water expedition destinations such as the Seychelles, Africa, the Galapagos and the Pacific are emerging as the biggest growth area in the expedition cruise sector, according to experts speaking at the inaugural Expedition Cruise Network (ECN) Conference. While classic polar regions like Antarctica and the Arctic remain strong, the trade is seeing surging demand for more diverse, warm-weather itineraries as operators deploy ships to new, remote regions. Experts highlight that travellers now want to replicate polar-style immersive, small-ship exploration in tropical and subtropical environments, driving new product development and trade opportunities.
